Blessing of Easter Baskets – A Cherished Tradition

On Easter Sunday, after the joyful celebration of the Resurrection Divine Liturgy, parishioners gathered outside the church for one of the most beloved Ukrainian customs — the Blessing of Easter Baskets.

This vibrant tradition is a heartfelt expression of faith, gratitude, and joy. Each basket, lovingly prepared by families, was filled with foods rich in meaning — paska (Easter bread) symbolizing Christ, eggs representing new life, meat and dairy signifying the end of the Lenten fast, and other delicacies that reflect God’s abundance.

Under the radiant spring sky, surrounded by our parish family, we gave thanks together for the gift of the Resurrection and the blessings in our lives. It was a beautiful moment of unity, joy, and shared tradition that continues to connect generations.

Christ is Risen! Христос Воскрес!
